I want to start the review by saying that I am totally biased already, I LOVE all things Weber Grills, I truly believe that they are the gold standard in both grills and grilling accessories in the grilling world.
I already have a Weber Spirt Gas grill, a 18 inch Weber Smoky Mountain and a 18 inch Weber Kettle grill, so I knew that I had to upgrade to a bigger and better grill now that I am grilling more often and using charcoal more often. I actually needed achieve the gold level of grills. So thanks to my amazing friends at Weber, I got a 22inch Weber One Touch Gold Kettle Grill to add to my “grill family.”

If you aren’t familiar with the history of Weber grills, the original round kettle grill was built by George Stephen Sr., a part-owner of a sheet metal shop in Chicago who sought to improve on the brazier he had been using to cook with at home. The grill was produced using two sheet metal half-spheres normally used as parts of buoys built in his shop. George’s neighbors called it ‘Sputnik‘. Shortly thereafter he began selling the invention, which he called ‘George’s Barbecue Kettle’, for which there was considerable demand.
Because the grill became so successful after he began selling it in 1952, Stephen formed the barbecue division of the Weber Brothers factory. In the late 1950s, Stephen bought out the Weber Brothers factory and became the sole owner, devoting all his professional time to manufacturing and selling the Weber kettle. Soon thereafter, Stephen changed the company’s name to Weber-Stephen Products Co.
BBQ and Grilling Product Review of Weber’s One Touch 22′ Gold
As I have already mentioned, the majority of my grills are made by Weber but the One Touch Gold grill system has already become the grill that I will use from now on. I love how it is easy to get rid of the used charcoal ashes when you are finished. Just a simple twist of the lever beneath the grill, all the ashes that were used are in a easy to dump pan. In addition to the easy disposal of the ashes the 22′ of grilling space really makes a huge difference if you are grilling a lot of different items from steaks, to chicken kabobs and everything in between. The construction of the grill is very sturdy and isn’t hard at all to put together. The kettle grill has a total of 508 square inches of total cooking space, and with the porcelain – enameled bowl and lid and has glass reinforced handles, and lastly a built in thermometer the the Weber One Touch 22′ Gold has set the bar so high that very few grills and grilling companies will never achieve it.
The Weber One Touch 22′ Gold has already become my go to grill and has made grilling again fun and exciting and easy to clean up which is always a pain. If you are looking to purchase a new or even add a new grill to your “grilling family,” YOU must purchase a Weber One Touch Gold, I promise it will be worth all the money in the world!
