For my latest barbecue and grilling adventure I am going to be sharing with you a brand new and Grilling with Rich Original Barbecue adventure and recipe: Smoked Brussels Sprouts with Smoked Sausages.

Many of us grew up hating brussel sprouts and being forced to eat them at your parents dinner table, but I recently discovered how amazing they can be and I wanted to start to think how to in-corporate some nice barbecue and smoky flavors into brussel sprouts.

Smoked Brussel Sprout GIFMost of the recipes on-line that deal with brussel sprouts suggest that you roast your brussel sprouts and separately smoke your sausages. Well that wasn’t good enough for me, so after a lot of thinking on my own and also some general research I came up with this amazing dish for the lovers of brussel sprouts out in the universe OR if you just want to try something different for YOUR next barbecue adventure.

  • 1 bag Fresh Brussel Sprouts
  • 1 Package Johnsonville Susages
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Extra-virgin olive oil

Place your sausages in the smoker around 250 degrees for about 30 minutes. While the sausages are in the smoker, cut the brussel sprouts in half and place in a cast iron skillet pan.
Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil on top of the brussel sprouts and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Once done place the skillet with no top into your smoker for approximately 30mins.
Once the 30minutes is up, remove the smoked sausages from the smoker and also remove the skillet of brussel sprouts.
Slice the susages into cubed shaped pieces and place inside the skillet with the brussel sprouts and then cover everything and place inside the smoker for additional thirty mins
Remove from smoker and then serve and enjoy!
