Even though voting isn’t over for this year’s Barbecue Person of the Year, we are already getting ready for 2013’s competition. With that being said, we have partnered up with the National Barbecue Association to present BBQ Person of the Year for 2013!
For those who aren’t sure what is the mission and also what is the National Barbecue Association, here is the organizations description.
The National Barbecue Association is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association founded in January 1991 and incorporated in the State of North Carolina in 1993. The organization was created to address the needs of the broad, diverse and growing barbecue industry.
At the time the association was formed, there were a variety of organizations specifically focused on a particular segment or region of the barbecue world, but no single group designed to unite and strengthen the industry overall. Since that time, the NBBQA has grown into an organization nearly 2,000 members strong, connecting all branches of the barbecue “family tree” to share, learn and celebrate. From restaurateurs, caterers and suppliers to competitors and the public at large, our members represent anyone with a personal or professional passion for this great American culinary tradition.
In addition to being the BBQ Person of the Year for 2013, at the 2014 National Barbecue Association’s Annual Conference the winner will receive a trophy and also a profile on Grilling with Rich and also on the National Barbecue Association’s website!
We are looking forward to working with the National Barbecue Association and we consider it a true honor that they have agreed to work with us. Stay tuned during 2013 for the latest news for BBQ Person of the Year for 2013!
