Review and Rating of The Craft Beer Bites Cookbook: 100 Recipes for Sliders, Skewers, Mini Desserts and More all Made with Beer
Overall, I really enjoyed the book and all the recipes, content and photography in the book. The other aspect of the book that I enjoyed was the three chapters that focused on how to cook with beer, the chapter on craft beer and how to cook with craft beer and the glossary on beer terms
Photography: The only disappointment in the book was the lack of pictures of the food. I guess I am used to seeing a lot of great food pictures that accompany the recipes in the book. The reason why I am also disappointed in the photography is that the pictures that are in the book are really great, they really capture the recipes and ingredients.
Quality and Quantity of Recipes: This was the highlight of the book for me, with over 100 recipes that involve using different types of beer really impressed me. Some of favorite recipes in the book are: the Grilled Barbecue Chicken and Peach Mini Pizzas, the Beer Battered Shrimp with Chipotle Lime Dipping sauce and my favorite dessert recipe: Chocolate Stout Whoopie Pies with Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling. In my mind what really sets the book aside and different is that all of the recipes have a different type of beer that is being used. The recipes are really great and diverse which range from: Sliders, Dips, beer recipes with nuts, olives, popcorn and also beer with tartlets and mini pies.
Ease of Recipes to Execute: A lot of the recipes in the book are extremely easy to execute if you follow the directions. The author really provides great and descriptive directions to implement the recipes that you can really impress your guests with.
If you are into using beer as an ingredient to cook with or even like to drink beer with your food then this book is for you. The recipes really take some of beer pub favorites and kick it up to a serious level of amazing.
